YM Ease The Pain Initiative For Two Patients

Shaiful Afandi Musa, 45 was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in May 2015. Despite having completed 18 cycles of Chemotherapy, the treatment was ineffective and over time the cancer cells spread to his face causing a tumor. Under its Ease the Pain programme, YM steps forward assisting Shaiful to cover cost of his tumor removal at MSU Medical Centre. The reconstructive surgery was performed by the centre’s medical team led by Prof Dr Arman, who is MSUMC very own reconstructive surgeon. Shaiful is now on post-operative rehabilitation.

Nur Alyaa Humaira, 6 was diagnosed with an Omphalocele since birth. It is a defect which occurs when the bowel, liver and sometimes other organs remain outside the belly in a sac. Since her admission to MSU Specialist Hospital, she has undergone surgery to relocate the organs. Nur Alyaa has since shown positive recovery. Congratulations to our specialist surgeon and consultants, Dr Zailani (General & Colorectal Surgeon), Prof Dr Arman (Reconstructive & Plastic Surgeon), Dr Hasmawati (Paediatrician) and Dr Fadzlon (Anaesthetist) for the team-work and recovery procedure. YM wishes Nur Alyaa and her family abundance of good health and happiness.
